Admissions: How to Apply Services are available to all who fit the appropriate need based criteria for admission. Pleasant View, Inc. offers a variety of residential and day program options and clients are placed according to their need and functioning levels. The Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services (DMHMRSAS) licensure requires that clients receiving residential services from Pleasant View have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. The Harrison ICF/MR has more intensified medical care available and those clients must have a secondary diagnosis such as seizure disorder, psychosis or other severe medical or psychological disability. In certain cases, a client being considered for admission needs to be male or female based on the roommates or existing living situations. When constructing the Harrison ICF-MR in 1984, a conscious decision was made to have a single room to allow admissions of either gender where openings occurred. Each client has an individual service plan and is provided with necessary services. As openings are available, appropriate applicants are reviewed and offered placement. Admission and service decisions are made by an Interdisciplinary Team consisting of professionals contracted with Pleasant View, Inc.
